U3A UK ONLINE COURSES

The Third Age Trust (the UK national U3A Organisation) offer an extensive list of online courses. These are short courses, specially designed for older people and available through a partnership between the national U3A organisation) and the U3A Online Inc.(based in Australia). There are both tutored and untutored courses, and no entry qualifications are required. They offer no credit on completion and are designed purely for personal interest and enjoyment. They have been written by volunteers who are experienced tutors or course leaders in their fields.

The courses are aimed at U3A members; ex members who are no longer able to attend a U3A; and those unable to access conventional courses for whatever reason (e.g. restricted mobility, disability, etc).

COMPUTER TRAINING IN PENMAEMAWR (2008): Special Note

Courses from beginners level upwards, are now being run at the Pen. Community Centre, where computers are also available on an ad-hoc basis.

Computers for Beginners: Tuesdays 10-12 £30 for 6 sessions
Introduction to the Internet and E-mail: Wednesdays 10-12: £30 for 6 sessions

NEW COURSES BEGINNING NOVEMBER: 2008

Using IT to Research Family History: :Build your Own Family Tree. Tuesdays 1-4pm 10 weeks £40

Genealogy Drop In: Use Ancestry (Library edition) for Research. Thursdays 10-12am, and 1-2.30pm £1.50 per session.
